| These two galleries started by pure chance. After a day out shooting photos with friends, I realised that my favorite photo was one where we could not identify the subject. I noticed the same thing a few weeks later, after a day spent taking photos in Montreal.
I decided to develop this theme of unknown individuals in an urban setting - "Anonymous in the City", as I quickly dubbed this series. Quickly enough, I decided I wanted to push the envelope further. I wanted to go beyond the purely representative portraits that I do on wedding days. I wanted to create a image where the subject was often disconected from the surrounding world - whether it's because the world become "unreal" through digital manipulation, or because we try to remove ourselves by hiding behind umbrellas, as in the "Rainy Day" series.
